[ English ]

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s owing to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for generations. Patrons from many of the surrounding states load up in passenger cars and visit Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a precedent setting decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the gambling rules, and at this time run 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were built on. automated games such as slots were not allowed, on the grounds that they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law has changed to allow for gigantic Indian gambling casinos. You will now see Indian gambling dens with slot machine games, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not allowed in the Native gambling dens yet, however that is just a waiting game. No one can determine whether having different games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
