Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for generations. Clients from each of the surrounding states load up in cars and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today operate ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to allow for gigantic Native gaming casinos.
